An assessment mission team of the World Intellectual Property Organization are working in Mongolia.

By the invitation of Director General Elbegsaikhan.G of the Intellectual PropertyOffice of Mongolia, an assessment mission team consisting of David Simmons, Counsellor, Division for Asia and Development sector of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and Barbara Pick, an international consultant and expert, discussed the possibility of making pine nuts as a product with a geographical indication.

Assessment mission team is working in Mongolia to evaluate the way forward, get acquainted with the progress of the projects and programs implemented jointly with Mongolia, and consult on measures to be implemented in the future.

Today, the assessment team met with Battulga.E, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Jambaltseren.T State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, and other relevant officials, and discussed the preparation, processing, and final product processing of pine nuts, statistical information on production and export stage regulation.

Amgalan.D, Head of Administration Department of Intellectual Property Office of Mongolia and Urangerel.S, Head of Industrial Property Department were present at the meeting discussed and exchanged opinions on how to cooperate in the future.
